HOW BASED ASSOCIATES WORKS.
We are a Nounish DAO, auctioning one membership token every day, forever.
We operate in Seasons. Each season we collectively build a new project on Base, decided upon by the DAO. The only limit is our collective imagination.
We are currently in our first season which runs until the end of Onchain Summer ‘24
Our meta-mission is to help build a SO BASED world, onchain, offchain and IRL, helping to contribute to bringing the next million Builders and billion Users to Base.

OUR FOCUS
Base is teeming with onchain tools and platforms to make any SO BASED dream come true. Our focus is to use these tools to build projects that make the world more BASED, rather than to build more tools themselves.
SEASON ONE
DURING SEASON ONE WE HAVE FOCUSED ON CURATING AND ARCHIVING THE FIRST YEAR OF BASED ART, HISTORY AND CULTURE INTO AN ONCHAIN MUSEUM , AND ESTABLISHing A GOVERNANCE HUB FOR associates to COLLECTIVELY participate in DAOS ACROSS THE BASE ECOSYSTEM.

THE MUSEUM OF BASED ARTFKTS is our first project, a permanent onchain collection archiving the art, history and memetic culture of the first year of Base - onchain, in the metaverse and IRL.
META-GOVERNANCE
The DAO owns tokens across multiple DAOs on BASE, including Based Management, Based Ventures, Builder, The Park and Purple - building a meta-governance hub for ASSOCIATES, across the BASE DAO ecosystem.
WTF IS ‘SO BASED’?
At the end of each season we produce an onchain ARTFKT, that captures the story of the season.
The ARTFKT for Season One will be a film that captures what it means to be SO BASED, from the point of view of the Base community.

EACH SEASON WE UPDATE OUR DAO TOKEN ART TO REFLECT THE MISSION OF THAT SEASON. SEASON ONE ART IS BASED ON DISCOVERING OUR ORIGIN STORY AND HOW THE DAO MIGHT FIT INTO THE BASE ECOSYSTEM AS A NEW DECENTRALISED ORGANISATION.

You join BASED ASSOCIATES by buying a DAO token in our daily auction.
The reserve price is 0.0111 ETH, on BASE Network.
You will then become a BASED ASSOCIATE and can participate in DAO governance of both BASED ASSOCIATES and collectively in the DAOs that we hold tokens in.

One token one vote on BASED ASSOCIATE DAO business.
Governance of other DAOs that ASSOCIATES hold token in will be done in Snapshot and the vote delegated to @deebee and will vote on the corresponding DAO’s according to ASSOCIATES decisions.
Veto is held by @deebee and will only be used for malicious or drastically off-topic and potentially damaging proposals.

ASSOCIATES can vote to allocate funds from the treasury towards acquiring pieces for The Museum of BASED ARTFKTS.
Free editions can be decided upon by soft consensus, larger purchases may need an onchain vote. Purchases will be made by @deebee into moba.basedassociates.eth.

Founder allocations are as follows:
10% - gov.wtfenergy.eth. WTF/ENERGY is a proto-DAO building DAOish experiments on the Optimism Superchain, that developed and launched BASED ASSOCIATES.
10% - Based Associates community multi-sig
2% - deebee.eth
1% - Based Management
1% - Builder DAO
Veto will be held by deebee.eth to protect against malicious and wildly off-mission proposals.

Based Associates is registered as a Delaware Series LLC. (Based Associates LLC, A SERIES OF OTOCO BASE DE LLC)
This allows us to receive grants and funding from wider sources than would be possible as an unincorporated entity.
